Early stage product teams are having to adapt, but the tools are not keeping up. They've been built for enterprise organisations where bureacracy gets in the way of shipping great products. While the voice of the customer, such as support issues, feature requests, and feedback are helpful, they are reactive, lagging indicators of the jobs your customers need to get done.
We’ve experienced firsthand how valuable qualitative user research can be—talking to just seven people from your target segment can enable your team to glean so much insight. But, also how challenging it is to systematically analyse, share, and act upon the insights and tie them to your business goals.
